First Scenes from the London Olympic Stabling
Equestrian team horses are continuing to check in to the Olympic stabling in London and we’re enjoying an inside look at the team horses’ and riders’ home base for the Games.
Much has been made of the impact of these Games on London’s citizens and venues and it is interesting to see how the stables have been built on platforms to protect the grasses of Greenwich Park.
Inside the stables, it is fun to see the individual touches of national pride, such as Team Sweden’s dala horse mascot (top of post), Great Britain’s Union Jack banners, and the good luck message for German Eventing team riders Ingrid Klimke and Butts Abraxxas (below).
As Americans, we’re much more familiar with tow-behind horse trailers but in Europe, stylish “lorries” abound, such as this bright red British rig (below).
