Racehorse Track Roll by Sideshow Sign Co., $295
The racehorse honor roll. It’s a familiar list – Triple Crown winners, modern wunderkinds, and famous runners from eras gone by. Will I’ll Have Another win the Belmont Stakes this weekend to clinch the Triple Crown and take his place amongst them? There are a variety of opinions on that issue, but one thing’s for certain: the iconic names of racings’ most illustrious horses have a lasting power to send a shiver down our spine.
Australian expat and now Nashville, Tennessee based Luke Stockdale, the artist behind the Sideshow Sign Co., immortalizes both their names and that emotion well with his Racehorse Track Roll, a 27.5 x 71 inch print on sturdy canvas and hung with banged-up wooden rods on the top and bottom. Sideshow Sign Co. specializes in giant throwback vintage prints and light-up marquee letters influenced by the entertainment industry, science, and antiquarian educational material and they tell us this is their largest print. The wooden rods are hand stained, treated, and painted for the perfect rustic finish. A great addition to any eclectic equestrian home, don’t you think?
PS – Luke, being an Aussie and all, has a bias for Phar Lap. We concur!
