Riding (or Flying?) on Air

Riding (or Flying?) on Air Hermes Saddle Wings

Hermes Winged Saddle

With the horses and riders galloping and jumping around the cross country course at this week’s Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event looking like they’re about to sprout wings, we wonder if this Hermes saddle might allow them to actually take flight?

Alas, while this winged model won’t be available (as it’s headed out onto display at London’s Burlington Gardens next month as part of the Hermes “Leather Forever” exhibition), there’s another air-light saddle that has riders talking…

The Wise-Equestrian saddle line, developed in partnership by Ronald Zabala-Goetschel and Phillip Dutton, features a patented, revolutionary WisAir ventilation system in the panels, seat, and flaps that allows a cooling air flow along the back of the horse.

Recently named the saddle of the United States Eventing Association, Wise-Equestrian saddles are designed with an innovative approach to balance and horse/rider comfort. Each model is equipped with and adjustable gullet system; the patented “Rotate to Fit”  gullet system is an add-on which allows the gullet to be adjusted while on the horse via a turnkey hole in the pommel.

As Wise-Equestrian says, “Get some air!”
