Planning Greenwich Park for London 2012

Planning Greenwich Park for London 2012 Greenwich Park SimulationIs anyone else starting to get Olympic fever? We know there’s a long way to go until London 2012, but with this week’s release of the equestrian events schedule and tickets going on sale March 15, we’ve got gold medals on our mind!

All of the Olympic equestrian events will be held at London’s Greenwich Park, the National Maritime Museum, the Old Royal Naval College, and the Circus Field. This urban venue in beautiful Greenwich Park puts Dressage, Showjumping, Three Day Eventing, and Modern Pentathlon at center stage, both close to the Olympic Village and easily accessible by public transportation.

The London 2012 Olympic Equestrian events will take place from July 27 – August 12, 2012, and the Paralympic Games run from August 29 – September 9. Grounds preparation at Greenwich Park already began in August 2010 and a test event is slated to be held in July of this year.

Want to see what’s in the works? Check out this video in which London 2012 Equestrian Manager Tim Hadaway walks us through the venue and plans.
