A Rider’s Portrait of Jackie O

A Riders Portrait of Jackie O Jackie Kennedy Onassis There may be a new generation of equestrian fashionista on the scene, but Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis remains the patron saint of Dappled Grey.

On what would have been the 81st birthday of Jackie O, we’re inspired to revisit the beautiful book about her less known equestrian life: The Private Passion of Jackie Kennedy Onassis: Portrait of a Rider.

Middleburg, VA writer and editor Vicky Moon is adept at sharing the beauty and history of the equestrian lifestyle, in both her book about Kennedy Onassis and, more recently, Equestrian Style.

Nostalgic as you know we are, Dappled Grey loved pouring over “Portrait’s” photos of Jackie and her children with their horses and the obvious peace and joy it brought. Though the events of her life were dramatic to surreal proportions, this book shows a side of the first lady to which any rider can relate and enjoy.

Every week, Dappled Grey sends our subscribers our free weekly Style Guide. Peruse our fabulous previous editions here.

Love this book and have it on my coffee table. The photos are just beautiful and I learned some things I didn’t know about Jackie. Just when you think you’ve seen every picture there is of her, this book proves you wrong.
