For wet conditions, we have not found a better glove than the MacWet Smart Glove. They call it “smart” and, make no mistake, these are technologically advanced “geek gloves,” used by sharpshooters, adventure racers, and cyclists worldwide. They may not be pretty, but they work.

Made of a synthetic “AquaTec” material, MacWet gloves actually absorb moisture and use the dampness to improve your grip on the reins.

On the hand, the first thing you notice about the MacWet is its thin feel – a must for sensitivity. Because they are so lightweight, you barely notice that you are wearing a glove. When moisture is added – through rain, the splash of a water jump, or even just normal perspiration – the material takes on the “tacky” feel of leather.

In warm, dry conditions, MacWet recommends squeezing a damp rag with the gloves on to activate the “all grip, no slip” technology.

The MacWet comes in 12 sizes and is machine washable.  We think you’ll want to keep a pair in your tack trunk to be prepared for slippery situations!
