As you might remember, we’re big fans of our Flip Mino HD video camera. Well, wouldn’t you know, the good folks at Flip have us revisiting our tech wish list with the release of the Flip SlideHD , a pocket-sized camera that allows you watch your high definition videos instantly on a slide-up widescreen.
The SlideHD has the same ease of use (point and shoot recording, built-in USB arm for download, and simple storing and editing software) and crisp high-definition images as its predecessors, in Flip’s signature pocket-sized, portable package.
Packed in your backpack or zipped up in your fleece jacket, we used to think it was primarily the Flip’s size and self-contained (no cords!) design that made it such a useful innovation for equestrians. But the new slide-up 3″ widescreen, with a screen resolution of 400 x 240 pixels, add a significant advantage over the Mino. We want the Slide HD because it boosts the instant-gratification (and time-saving) factor of managing and watching recorded video on the fly – big time.
The Flip SlideHD narrowly missed being included in our 2010 Mother’s Day Gift Guide, but we can think of quite a few equestrian moms who would LOVE this simple stylish camera. Oh and did we mention that the Slide’s case can be customized using your own uploaded image? The camera shown above is ready to ship to Dappled Grey’s mom, with an image of her darling daughter and 12 week old Lakeland Terrier Daisy at the 2009 High Desert Classic Horse Show in Bend, Oregon.
Do you think she’ll like it? :)
