In an age of YouTube videos and live streams from horse shows, the 208-page book Dressage Dreams provides a refreshingly in-depth look at the various aspects of international dressage. Author Stephen Clarke, Britain’s only “O” judge, most recently served as president of the dressage jury at the European Championships at Windsor and has been named to the judging panel at the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
The structure of the book is clever – a chapter for each of the Grand Prix movements – and the photography stunning. We love the “judge’s box” comments and especially the description of the daily routines of the featured horses – the record-breaking Moorlands Totilas, world champions Salinero and Satchmo, and the legendary (now deceased) Olympic Ferro.
Publishers Lewisharding have released Dressage Dreams as the first in a series of books on every FEI discipline and have presented a lovely sneak peak of its beautiful pages.
