A Portland-based equine fashion designer recently (via Daily Candy) tipped us off to Horse+Nail, a very cool line of custom made, hand crafted handbags. According to designer Lindsey Hufnagel, who grew up riding horses in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, her designs are inspired by the creative use of horse tack.
Gucci may have pioneered the “bit bag“, but when was the last time you saw a hackamore or a curb chain on the strap of a leather tote? Horse+Nail scores major points for creativity and for creating an equestrian style that looks neither “ranchy” nor “stuffy.” The Black Eyed Nellie Hobo is already on Dappled Grey’s wish list!
