Let’s give a big thumbs up for the super creative moms out there who turn the down time spent at the stables during their daughter’s riding lessons into their own creative adventures! Australian mother of three Tammy Raine was at her girls’ riding camp when struck with the idea for her Giddyupgirl! apparel and accessory company.

We share in Raine’s observation that many of the young girls who ride horses tend to favor surf brand clothing, like Roxy or Hurley, instead of the familiar equestrian labels. Not surprisingly, with her daughters and their friends as an informal focus group, Raine received an enthusiastic “Yes!” to her idea for a Billabong type clothing line for horse girls.

As a former model with experience in the wholesale/retail apparel industry, Tammy Raine wasted no time putting together Giddyupgirl!, which she calls “Australia’s own funky fashion label for horse lovers.” Imagine if surf/skate-wear chain Pacific Sunwear sold equestrian apparel, and you’ve got the idea.

The current Giddyupgirl! line features a lot of fun and free spirited t-shirts, but also includes super cute jackets, vests, and polos. One of our favorite pieces is the adorable cherry-red hoody with faux fur lining. In the accessories department, we are definitely in favor of this cool vinyl wallet.

If you are  US retailer interested in carrying the line, here in the States it is called Jillaroo Australia and is distributed by John Butler at Canamera Distributing (@CanameraUSA).
